For God of War III on the PlayStation 3, a GameFAQs message board topic titled Kratos is possibly a demigod. Okay so in the beginning of God of war 1 kratos is a demigod he kills ares and becomes the new God of war so is he a full force God in ghost of sparta or do we see his full power in the beginning of gow2? How is he a god in GOW 2018 if he lost his powers in gow 2? I'm confused. He later avenges the deaths of his family and becomes the God of War after killing Ares.He is half human and has always been a mere mortal, something people call him throughout the entire game series Kratos was born as a Demi-God and nothing has changed that throughout the games series.We don't know how stronger he is after that but we know for sure that he is considered a god. In GOW3 he kills Hades and with his claws he absorbs his soul. In GOW2 he loses all his godly powers(but not Hope) when he touches the blade of olympus and turns back to his former self(demigod). He killed Ares and was made officially a god by Zeus and Athena in GOW. He opened Pandora's box and gained Hope(the power to kill a god). I think he's now a low God/high-Demigod, with a very long, but still. Kratos still isn't as powerful as he was at his peak, when he could go Giant Rampaging God mode, and he doesn't seem to be immortal any longer. Then, during God of War 2, he lost most of his power to the Blade of Olympus, but then slowly gained back a lot of his old power during the end-events of God of War 2 and 3. I'm pretty sure Kratos was born a demigod, but ascended to full godhood after the events of God of War 1.Demi-gods can earn immortality, but are born mortal, having a varying range of powers vs. In theGod of War saga, Kratos is said to be a demi-God, son of Zeus + a mortal woman, like Hercules was.He became a god after Ares' death, but became a demigod again in GoW II after loosing his immortality.
